Quick answers to common questions about Traincorp.

The minimum entry requirement is Grade 10 with Mathematics Literacy. If you do not meet the requirements, Traincorp may assess you for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to determine if you qualify.

For the Trainwise Electrical online course, entry is done through the ARPL (Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning) process, where Traincorp assesses your existing knowledge and experience.

We offer Occupational Certificates in:

We also offer:
  • Electrical online course (Trainwise – 18 months part-time, ARPL route available)
  • Trade Test Preparation

  • Advanced Nanny & Au Pair Training
  • Bereavement Counselling
  • HIV and AIDS
  • Divorce Counselling

All Occupational Certificates include:
  • Theory (Knowledge Modules) completed on Moodle
  • Formative and Summative assessments completed on Moodle
  • Practical training
  • Workplace Modules (on-the-job experience)
  • Portfolio of Evidence (POE) and logbooks
Students will need:
  • A phone, tablet, or laptop to access Moodle and complete their studies
Trade students will also receive a tool list for practical training.

The trade test is the final external assessment for trade qualifications.

Students must:
  • Complete all theory, practical, and workplace modules
  • Complete and submit their logbooks
These are then:
  • Brought to Traincorp for moderation and marking
  • Evaluated through a gap analysis
After this:
  • Students attend 4 weeks Trade Test Preparation at Traincorp (at their own cost)
  • The trade test is then completed at Traincorp or another accredited Trade Test Centre

  • Traincorp issues a Statement of Results (SOR) once all internal requirements are completed
  • QCTO conducts a site visit and verification to determine if students are ready
  • Students are then approved to write their EISA exam (ECD) or Trade Test (Trades)
  • Once passed, a Statement of Achievement (SOA) is issued by the relevant SETA
  • Thereafter, the official Occupational Certificate is issued

The EISA (External Integrated Summative Assessment) is the final external exam for ECD students.

Yes, additional costs may include:
  • EISA exam and certification fees (ECD students, paid to ETDP SETA and QCTO)
  • Trade Test fees (trade students)
  • Trade Test Preparation (4 weeks at Traincorp)

Trades (Year 1):
  • Monday to Thursday
  • 08h00 – 14h00
ECD:
  • Once a month (Saturday morning)
We are closed on public holidays and school holidays.

  • Attach all required certified documents
  • Include your latest school report
  • If required, start the RPL process
  • Make payment and send proof of payment
  • Join the WhatsApp group
  • Receive your learner guide and documents
  • Follow your class calendar

You submit your documents, Traincorp reviews your application, and once approved you pay your registration fee and first monthly fee. After sending proof of payment, you are officially enrolled.

If you are unsure about your course choice, you may arrange to shadow classes for 1 or 2 days at Traincorp at no additional cost before making your final decision.

Yes, we are accredited with QCTO and DHET, and a member of MERSETA, aligned with ETDP SETA, EWSETA, and NAMB.
